Locking up young individuals could be catalyst for crime later

One does not need to be an adult to be accused of committing a crime in the state of Texas. Likewise, under certain circumstances it is possible that a juvenile will be locked up as a consequence for such an action. A recent study questions the usefulness of incarcerating those who have been accused of juvenile crimes. The author of the study, now employed by MIT Sloan School of Management as an economics professor, asserts that it may not be the best way to deal with young people who have been found guilty of participating in a criminal activity.
